Glazing Options…

To double or single glaze?

In years past, double glazing has proven to be a lot more expensive than single glazing, but those days are gone.

These days, nine times out of ten, we’re supplying our products double glazed for the following reasons:

  • The price to double glaze has become very reasonable.
  • Energy reports for new homes call for double glazing more often than not.
  • Double glazing creates a more comfortable home to live in year round.

Double glazing consists of an external pane of glass, an argon gas spacer, then an internal pane of glass. This spacer (gap between the panes), dramatically reduces heat transfer from outside to inside during summer and provides a more stable, controled internal environment. This works for winter conditions also, keeping the cold out and keeping the inside of your home nice and warm.

For North, East & West elevations we have Low E options that reduce UV entering the home. These come in double glazed or single glazed options also.

For South elevations we have Low E options that help to keep the warmth in your home through winter.
